Making dogs bark for their biscuits since 2020. The story behind Roxie’s Barkery.
It all started with one dog and a whole lot of love.
After adopting her first pup, Roxie, McKenna quickly discovered how difficult it was to find high-quality dog treats made with clean, healthy ingredients. She spent countless hours scanning pet store shelves, only to find treats filled with artificial preservatives, dyes, and low-quality fillers.
With a background as a veterinary assistant and client care specialist at an animal hospital, McKenna had already seen firsthand how allergies and food sensitivities affected pets-and how hard it was for their owners to find safe, nutritious treats. Inspired by both her professional experience and her personal journey with Roxie, she rolled up her sleeves, stepped into the kitchen, and began baking all-natural treats dogs could safely enjoy.
And just like that, Roxie’s Barkery was born!
What began as a passion project quickly grew thanks to the incredible support from family, friends, and fellow pet parents. McKenna began receiving glowing feedback from owners of picky eaters and dogs with special dietary needs-who were finally able to enjoy treats they loved and could tolerate.
Fueled by that excitement, McKenna expanded her offerings beyond biscuits to include custom cakes, frosted cookies, pup-cakes, frozen treats, and more-all handmade with love and high-quality, human-grade ingredients.
In May 2022, Roxie’s Barkery officially became the Berkshires’ first and only Barkery & Boutique! Today, our store offers not only our signature all-natural treats and baked goods, but also a thoughtfully curated selection of high-quality pet supplies, chews, toys, accessories, enrichment products, food toppers, pet food, and even fun pet-inspired gifts for humans.

Owner & Founder
McKenna’s deep love and passion for animals-especially dogs-has shaped every part of Roxie’s Barkery. With hands on experience working in an animal hospital, doggy daycare, and a year of veterinary technician schooling under her belt, she’s spent years dedicated to the care and well-being of animals. She also actively volunteers her time to local shelters and rescues, continuing to support pets in need throughout the community.
As a pet parent to three dogs and three cats, McKenna knows firsthand how challenging it can be to find healthy, trustworthy treats that are truly safe. That personal struggle, combined with her professional experience, inspired her to create Roxie’s Barkery-a place where pet owners can feel confident knowing they’re giving their animals the absolute best.
Drawing from her education and background, McKenna crafts every Roxie’s recipe with care-using only all-natural, high-quality ingredients that support your dog’s health. Many of her recipes are specially formulated to help dogs with allergies and sensitivities, offering safe and delicious solutions for even the most delicate diets.
McKenna is fully invested in everything she creates. If it’s not something she would give to her own pets, it’s not sold here. She continues to expand her knowledge in pet health and wellness through ongoing education, ensuring that Roxie’s Barkery always offers the highest quality treats and carefully curated products.
The bond between McKenna and her dog Roxie is the heart of everything she does. Their unbreakable connection fuels her mission to help other pet owners create a life full of health, happiness, and unforgettable memories with their furry companions.
Whether she’s baking up new recipes, helping a customer find the perfect product, or hosting pet-friendly community events, McKenna’s goal is simple: to help you give your pet the happiest, healthiest life possible-and to make sure every moment together is one worth celebrating.

Roxie is more than just McKenna’s best friend-she’s the inspiration behind it all! This spunky beagle mix was adopted from Dog Star Rescue in 2020, and ever since, she’s been the driving force (and wagging tail) behind Roxie’s Barkery.
As our official CBO (Chief Barking Officer) Pup Manager, and Head Taste Tester, Roxie takes her job very seriousely. Every biscuit and baked good must earn her “Barking Good” seal of approval before it hits the shelves. If Roxie doesn’t like it (which is rare!), we don’t sell it.
When she’s not busy overseeing treat production or sniffing out the best new products, Roxie enjoys hiking, going for walks and car rides, visiting her store to pick out new snacks and toys, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood from her favorite window perch, and of course sneaking in plenty of well deserved naps.
Roxie brings love, joy, quality control, and a whole lot of tail wags to everything we do and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
